Spew Pits is one of the most respected heavy reef breaks in Fuerteventura. The name says it all: it is a powerful wave that pits perfectly on big swells and is reserved for confident expert surfers.

• Right-hand reef, west swell.
• Best size: 2 - 4 m.
• Level: expert only.
• Bottom: shallow lava.

3. HOW TO GET THERE

Located on the rocky North Shore between Majanicho and El Cotillo. 4x4 access only along the unpaved coast track.

4. WHAT TO EXPECT

Heavy take-off, fast pitching barrel and a short shoulder. The wipe-outs are serious. Always go with someone who knows the spot.
